Think about it.

She conveyed the most confidence and most even tone on stage the other night. She deftly handled attacks without looking negative, small, or angry. She tells a compelling life story that starts with her *own* early career, more relatable than the umpteenth version of "my parents were poor, and look at what a success they raised" of all the guys on stage not named Bush or Trump. Like Reagan, she rather dismally failed when she achieved her highest level of achievement in her career, but glosses over that.

When asked about foreign policy or Planned Parenthood, she presented a convincing, fact-filled response that made her seem intelligent and in command of the facts even when it was shown later that almost everything she said was incorrect, irrelevant, or superficial, and mostly reflects an uncritical repetition of a certain flavor of right-wing conservatism.

http://www.vox.com/2015/9/16/9342761/carly-fiorina-debate

When called out on really obvious fabrications—like the Planned Parenthood video—she stands her ground and owns "her version" of the truth without apology. This is a strong parallel with Reagan.

This sounds harsh but I think it's a sign of how much potential Fiorina has to be a star as a candidate and even as a President. Being in control of yourself, having confidence, making others look small or irrelevant—it doesn't matter if you know the facts or have a sound command of policy. You'll go far.

She may rise in the polls for a couple of weeks then fall again, but she is not like Reagan.

I don't recall Reagan losing a Senate race because he came across as a cold and distance corporate type

No, Reagan wanted to end the Cold War, not restart it.

Pretty sure it was Reagan who re-escalated the Cold War after the '70s detente. Remember Star Wars?

Reagan was out of touch with reality, so perhaps it's fitting that the GOP adores him like they do.

She has better claim to the mantle than Trump ever did.

lol were we watching the same debate?! Her demeanor is awful. The media is going to manufacture a bump for her, but the more people see this screeching, argumentative, un-smiling CEO on their screen, the more they're going to react negatively against her.

The only thing they have in common is being horrible, ignorant human beings who never belonged in the White House.

Maybe.

She does display exemplary communication skills and charisma (as well as the possibility of being the figurehead of a new 'faction' of the GOP), but then again, so do a lot of other people.

Yep. That's her main problem - there's a certain ice queen quality to her.

Shouldn't at least serving as President for two terms be a prerequisite for being called "the new Reagan"?

No. Regan had the charisma of a movie star (or politician), while Fiorina has that of a modern business executive. Leaving aside their actual ability as executives, Fiorina's appeal is forceful and facile - of the most use in swaying the ignorant or impotent, and based on deliberate deceit. Reagan's charisma was real - he made almost everyone like him, and by association like what he said.

This is actually worse than the collective Atlas gushing over Kasich after the first debate.

Ronald smiled or laughed 86% of his time in the public eye.

So far though, Carly Fiorina has only smiled or laughed 2.3% of the time she's been in the public eye.

I'm no expert (only Nancy Reagan is) yet I get the feeling that she's no Ronald Reagan.

Having said that however, I DO get the feeling that Hillary Clinton might be a new Ronald Reagan.

No, Reagan wanted to end the Cold War, not restart it.

Michael Gorbachev was a capitalist (and still to this day is, very, very hardcore). Vladimir Putin is a hardcore communist. See the difference?
