More like as soon as she asks Wall Street how they want to create more volatility in the energy markets

Clinton opposes Keystone; the only reason she's waffling is because she doesn't want to piss off the unions, especially with Sanders lurking behind the corner. It has nothing to do with focus groups or whatever.

God, I hope she opposes it.

But then again, it would be kind of cool if she didn't, because that would transfer a lot of support to the Bern.

It makes sense for Hillary to do something, I suspect she will come out against it. But regardless it makes sense for her to create controversy and pick a fight. Hillary v Obama admin or Hillary v Unions or Hillary v Environmentalists is the kind of story the media love and will distract from the endless email stories.

I also noticed this week she started to do live interviews and this weekend she is doing her first Sunday show since 2011. And she was on Jimmy Fallon. So clearly the campaign has decided it was time to let her out of the bubble.

Why even bother at this point?  It's a dead issue - the price of oil is low.  Are even the Republicans talking about this anymore?

She'll announce as soon as she calculates who sent her the most contributions. The AFL-CIO who want the pipeline or the Sierra Club who dont.

This is pretty much the main reason why she'll bother taking a position. There's absolutely no risk either way.

The funny thing Is now the Alberta gov opposes the project, and quite possibly the Canadian election as of next month. So it doesn't really matter either way...

People will immediately start caring about the issue again once Hillary announces her position on it.

Taking a POV on the issue is about as relevant at this stage as staking out a strong opinion on the McKinley Tariff or the constitutionality of the Louisiana Purchase.

Obviously - I'm sure that is what the focus groups of Democratic voters all said.

And oil prices are too low to bother with it. Hillary waits until the powerful interests won't get too offended to choose her position.
