Japan`s parliament approved a new legislature which authorizes sending of Japanese military forces in other countries. That caused a wave of resentments among citizens. Yet Japan doesn`t actually need this as the same time the US may have encouraged Japan for such an act presuming it a response to Chinese activeness in world politics. Yet could Japan threaten China?

I thought they'd have to change the constitution to get this through.

Anyway not a good day for Abe, even though he managed to force the bill through. Not only do the public hate it, but Standard and Poor have cut the country's credit rating. The House of Counsellors also are promising to go all-out against the bill.

Uhhh, Japan was in a good stage on foreign policy before this, now probably results in more increases to military spending, cos' that's totally needed.

All things equal I agree that what has Japan has done is reasonable is what should be allowed by a sovereign nation.  I guess my main objection is what Abe choose to pass this this law on September 18th which the the anniversary of what we Chinese call the "918 Incident" which took place on 9/18/1931 when the armed forces of Japan started a military invasion of the Chinese Northeast also know as Manchuria and started an on an off conflict between ROC and Japan which only ended in 1945 with the end of WWII.   While the PRC should be faulted for exploiting and whipping up anti-Japanese feelings to help defuse its own domestic problems, what Abe did in choosing this day to pass this does not help things.

Well, they want to, but for now, why change the constitution when you can just pass blatantly unconstitutional laws? It's not like the Japanese Supreme Court (almost) ever actually exercises its judicial review powers.
