Who are some of your favorite political cartoonists? I'm a big fan of Ted Rall, Ruben Bowling, Tom Tomorrow and while I don't agree with all his politics Peter Bagge.

My favorite have always been Roald Als.

He is the best of the current crop, but nowhere near a master like Bojesen.

Blaxican, study some Nast cartoons and you'll get over whatever internet comedian you get off to.
I hate internet humor too. I prefer radio humor.

There are lots of bad ones, but there are also some masters of the craft. Though it is a genre that probably has degenerated in recent decades.

I actually tend to agree with this. Seldom have I seen a genuinely funny political cartoon.

Yes. Part of the problem is an increasing tendency to prioritise the paper's editorial line over being funny (which is not something the cartoonists can really be blamed for). And some that have more creative freedom are pretty pompous these days: the effect is much the same.

Since few of you are familiar with Mexican domestic cartoonists, let me offer a sample of my favorite one

(this was on the cover of a special issue on Mexican patriotism Smiley )

Since Mexican internal politics might be hard, here are some on international politics. First Latin America.

A few on Chavez and Venezuela

(this one was published when Chavez was dying and Chapo Guzman had not yet been captured before escaping again).

And this one on Ecuador

Cuba (and Mexico)

Arizona Smiley

Elsewhere

Pope

Spain (for those who understand)

Russia
