If nothing else the debate will let us know whether or not Biden is running, since it'd be crazy for him to join "after" the first debate.

I'm okay with O'Malley there but Chafee and Webb are just a waste of time really.    I'd be glad to see Chafee dropped.


Come, now. We'd all like to watch a discussion on the virtues of the metric system.

Lessig is silly, but at least he is actually campaigning. That's more than we can say for Webb. There are few enough candidates that I would like to see all six of them in the debate, but if anyone ought to be excluded, it's the candidate who clearly is not even trying.

Latest CNN, Bloomberg, and Quinnipiac polls all have Chafee at 0%.  The first debate is Oct. 13, so he still has two and a half weeks or so to get one more "credible" poll at 1% or more.  Do we know when the cutoff is?  If he gets a good poll on Oct. 12, is that too late?
