Hi all.

I hope everyone has been well.

I haven't posted in a while.  Apart from a deepening disinterest in politics, I've also been very busy.  I took over, after returning from a year in Nova Scotia, chair duties in my university department in early August, and there is a lot of work to do every day.  Can't say I like the job but will do the best I can within severely limited constraints in the institution and facing the education budget standstill in the state for the moment.  It will be sure to keep me at the grindstone for the next three years.

I'll pass through every now and then and post on things I find interesting.  I'm not very attached to the coming elections yet, but may get more interested as the full primary and general season kicks in.  We'll see. 

Anyway, just saying hi and hope everyone has been well.
