Out of the selected candidates, which do you feel is closest in ideology to a fascista?

[quote]We [Christians] should have an influence upon arts and entertainment, upon media, upon sports, upon education, upon business, upon government. As a matter of fact, the Word of God tells us, 'he who justifies the wicked or he that condemns the just, both of them are an abomination to the Lord'

We're probably committing a logical fallacy here, well, it feels like it, but I'd say that the closest is Huckabee. No one here is an actual fascist, though.

Obviously. Just like you could hold a similar poll on Communism, which I'm sure Sanders would win by a mile, despite disagreeing with Communists on basically every issue.

Sanders would probably be sent to the gulag just as quickly as I would, yeah.

Trump is more socially fascist, while Clinton is more fiscally fascist.

In all seriousness, none.

There are many ways of being awful without being fascist.

None are fascist per se, but Trump seems to espouse the same xenophobic rhetoric that folks from parties like the BNP, Ataka, Golden Dawn, National Front, and True Finns bring to the limelight. With a lot of those parties, economically they're populist in nature and rail out against elites while also fighting multiculturalism and immigration. Most of these are not distinctly fascist, but the rhetoric begins to blend at a certain point where you have folks like Nick Griffin and the Golden Dawn leadership team.

This. Though none of them are fascist.

Father Coughlin in the 30s is the only near-fascist US public figure I can think of. Several have been racist, nationalist and authoritarian, but not in the fascist combo, so to speak.

Don't insult Nixon by comparing him to that milquetoast, silver spoon-fed, so-called excuse for a Republican.

No offense intended, but my point still stands. Nixon really is vilified by liberals over Watergate despite his actual tenure.
