In an objective/non-partisan take, Boehner was one of the worse Speakers in history. How many times did he take a vote to the floor only to lose because they didn't have the count right? The man was just bad at his job.

McCarthy is a pragmatist, and skilled tactician, which is an essential quality to have for this horrible job. He's also far more articulate than Boehner.
