The only surprise is that she wasn't already a Republican.

Good. Give her a mic, please. The Christian right really is becoming more and more of a fringe with each passing year. Smiley

She'll fit in with the Huckabee crowd, the young-Earth people (probably), Bible-is-literally-true crowd, God-speaks-to-humans crowd, etc. Helps immensely to be GOP.

I still have not heard a single thing about her political views apart from the obvious.

I had this premonition that this would happen. She really wants to hold on to her most lucrative, excessively compensated for a small poor county, job. She won't be able to win a Dem primary, so now it's on to plan B.

Thank God and good riddance. I don't want that sort of bigotry in my party. If I somehow had a vote to expel her from the Democratic Party, I would have used it without hesitation.

She's a star now.  I can see her running for Congress.  Or running a primary against Rand Paul.

She's not really that bright, so I suspect Rand would hold his own, but you never know.

Congress or Senate is shooting too high, and her district is represented by Hal Rogers and I doubt she could successfully primary him. My bet is she will run for KY House. Her district is represented by a Democrat.

Being religious/a bigot does not make one "the right" or "conservative" inherently.  This woman's a Democrat not that out of line with the state Democratic Party.  Deal with it.

Must be a harsh dose of reality for some forum GOPers.

Ouch !
Seems like we somewhat have a "foot-in-mouth" situation here.

She'd lose.

I don't think she's ever going to win a general election ever again.

In her case, the higher the office, the better.  Running for the KY House would be a part-time position, and a step down from the full-time clerk of court position.

Running a primary against US Rep. Hal Rogers (R-KY) is another matter:

http://www.crewsmostcorrupt.org/mostcorrupt/entry/hal-rogers

Rogers will be 78 next year.  He's a pork barreler from a district that doesn't mind pork, but who is a prime target.  Davis isn't the sharpest card in the deck, but she's a newly minted Republican with some "star quality".  The negatives are that she lives in an area toward the edge of the district and I am sure there are a lot of KY local officials who've had their eye on Rogers's seat for some time.  None of them will have the star quality of Kim Davis, however.  US Rep Kim Davis (R-KY) - hmmm . . . it has a special ring to it, eh?

Meh, she might still be able to win it there.

This only happened because many Republicans took her as a hero for religious liberty and her story was nationalized.

I would absolutely LOVE IT if the press goes after her like they did Allison Lundergan Grimes and ask her how she voted for President in 2008 and 2012.

Maybe she made a statement somewhere saying that she'd vote for Obama, even if she wouldn't endorse or campaign for him.  Wouldn't that be priceless?
