I am sorry if this is in the wrong section but I really need to get this off my chest. Every time I go on yahoo and scroll down the comments on most political issues, almost everyone is a racist idiot

Why does that website bring out so much hate.. I am really just confused

My apologizes if this is in the wrong section

It's not that it's specifically Yahoo. It's that it's an internet comments section.

It caters to a low-information audience that necessarily reduces itself to the lowest common denominator.

People who actually understand politics aren't as likely to get their information from Yahoo News, let alone bother to post in the comments section.

It's the default homepage on many browsers. It attracts the sort of clientele who can't change default settings.

Many of them still have AOL email addresses too.  Probably play a lot of solitaire because they can't figure out minesweeper.

Yahoo is basically the only thing on the Internet from the 20th century still relevant today.
