Objectively one of the worst Speakers in US history. An incompetent joke every step of the way.

Took over a party that nearly everyone was writing off for dead. No one in 2008 would have predicted that republicans would control the house for 6 of the next 8 years. This was a dead party that was revived under his leadership and he led them to the largest GOP majority in 100 years. Id say he did alright.

Utterly Terrible. Too concerned about his next election and opposing Obama solely because Obama was alive. Rarely got anything controversial done unless there was some sort of non-negotiable deadline. Unwilling to reach real compromise. We need politicians who are willing to be voted out of leadership for the sake of real deal-making, and Boehner never was that sort of person.
