Democrats have only a chance to win beack at least the Senate, if they win the presidency. If the GOP candidate wins, Congress will remain completely in Republican hands (maybe Dems will pick up some seats). Probaly the Democrats win back Congress in the 2018 midterms.

If Republicans are victorious, will Obamacare be repealed and healthcare taken away from millions of people? Or will it be replaced with something else, so that those who are already under the program, keep their healthcare?

No, The Dems will have enough votes to block repeal in the Senate.

Only if they get rid of the filibuster entirely, which I think is unlikely.

No, but it will probably be gutted because the Democrats have very little spine when it comes to dealing with GOP radicalism.

If the GOP goes whole hog and eliminates the filibuster, the Dems only have themselves to blame for opening that door. It really depends on whether the President is a moderating influence on the party or not.

My prediction is they'll make some minor cosmetic changes and claim it as a "repeal".

No, like Newt Gingrich said, they cannot and should not throw millions of people off their insurance now that they have it.

They can (and should) make some needed tweaks though, like modifying the Cadillac Tax to better align with its purpose, though.

^^^^

Google "Patient CARE Act", and reading the articles (especially the National Review article) will show you that all the differences between the PCA and the ACA are entirely cosmetic. Republicans have completely surrendered policy-wise on healthcare; everything is merely rhetoric to motivate the base.

That. Republicans know very well that electoral winds can change very quickly. If a Republican president becomes unpopular then they will face big loses in 2018 and 2020 and it might be Democrats who control the trifecta in 2020, or shortly after redistricting.

There are only 2 possible 2018 senate pickups for D's, and it would take a 2008 style wave to flip the house in 2018, so odds are that if a republican wins in 2016 they have the trifecta until 2020 regardless of popularity. And 4 years is plenty of time to abolish the filibuster, repeal ObamaCare, the Iran Deal, and Dodd-Frank, then promptly reinstate it. The establishment won't like the idea, but the TP might force it.
