British Whig Prime Minister (1834, 1835-1841).

One word comes to my mind when thinking of Melbourne: a mediocrity. Spent his entire 25 years in the Commons as an undistinguished and largely unknown backbencher. Only after moving to the Lords, after his father's death, his career actually started.'

Was appointed to replace the Earl Grey as PM largely due to being the "least annoying Whig" in the eyes of the King, he accepted it only reluctantly due to his laziness. An original reactionary moderate hero, he was famous for his "why not leave it alone" motto.

Remembered mostly as daddy figure for Queen Victoria and, to a lesser extend, being the last PM dismissed by the monarch against the parliament's will (I seriously doubt that most of the people, when thinking of Melbourne, Australia, would know the namesake).

Too bad that he forgot about his "why not leave it alone?" attitude in this instance.

Pervert, creep and genuinely one of the biggest losers to ever be PM.

Okay, maybe Mike Johnson is a competent parliamentarian.

Most major figures of the Victorian era were total creeps.

I don't know much about him beyond the Wikipedia page, but I do know that he was Prime Minister when my French-Canadian 4th great-grandfather was part of the Canadian rebellions against the British, and that it was his government that ordered the execution of several rebels, including my ancestor. So HP on that alone, plus he sounds like a creep anyway.

Given all the blood he sheed, Melbourne's motto "why not leave it alone?" would sound ironic, if not that it was basically "let's protect the status quo at all costs".

I can already totally see this...

"Come, my poor little child. I'll fed you, make you warm and then I'll whip the hell out of you" Wink

Seriously, what a f**k up piece of s**t you must be to pray on defendless orphans like this? Imagine Melbourne with such immense powers over the country like Idi Amin.
