Has been said by others, but the top three are all outsiders (although Failurina is tied with Rubio). I wonder if John Bolton is seriously regretting not running right now.

He not only can claim to being an outsider by never having run before, he can also claim, for those who are concerned, for being an insider with his foreign policy 'experience.'

He is also something of a folk hero to many of the Neocons.

My guess is, depending on what his domestic policies might have been, he could very well have been the frontrunner at this point, and not Trump.

He combines Trump's 'politically incorrect' B.S with a 'knowledge', at least on foreign policy, though I don't believe he has the humor or showmanship of Trump, though I believe he does have some showmanship.

He'd be at Jindal/Perry levels.

Thanks for the replies, but I'd also like to hear from Republicans on this.

Also, I know that Jindalmania is just around the corner.  Cheesy

Not only would he be polling terribly, he's more of an administration pick for foreign policy than a presidential figure.

I don't think he regrets it. He'd basically be running a single-issue campaign, based all on foreign policy. I bet that he'll get some consideration for a cabinet position (defense? homeland security?) if the 45th President is a Republican.

He probably wouldn't have done well. He doesn't have the name recognition/reality show appeal of Trump, the amazing favorability and great profile of Carson, or the benefit of being a woman in male-dominated field.

Yeah, because fellow WWIII-starter Lindsey Graham is rolling in the supporters.
