With Whitfield on his way out, Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner James Comer – who lost the governor’s primary earlier this year to Matt Bevin by 83 votes, but pulled wide margins in the district – could launch a campaign for the seat, four Republicans with knowledge of the district said Tuesday.

Never thought Comer could do much. I guess he's better than most on the issues - IIRC, his infrastructure and GOTV included establishmentarian Paulites and some of the actual moderates.
