OK, I'll admit, I gave too much detail.

Suburbs suck but not because of their lack of strip clubs.

Seattle only has 4 and there's a moratorium (ban) on new ones...

That's a ratio of about 1:143,000

whoa that's terrible. Why would they pass such a horrible law in such a liberal tolerant city?

Uhh, because nobody wants a strip club in their neighborhood?

well I would.

Me too BRTD, even the rip-off American ones where because of stupid laws you can't get sex.

well I did come fairly close last night *too much detail given and now removed*

Goddamn!  PM me man!

The most important things that all cities must have.

I think you'll find that that would be drains, an economic base, transport links etc.
Well, yeah. Drains are pretty important.

Obligatory mullet-rock lyric by a band I've seen band 5 or 6 times, in a number of different venues.

The name of the song is Subdivisions.  It's written by Niel Peart of RUSH:

Sprawling on the fringes of the city
In geometric order
An insulated border
In between the bright lights
And the far unlit unknown

Growing up it all seems so one-sided
Opinions all provided
The future pre-decided
Detached and subdivided
In the mass production zone
Nowhere is the dreamer or the misfit so alone

(Subdivisions)
In the high school halls
In the shopping malls
Conform or be cast out
(Subdivisions)
In the basement bars
In the backs of cars
Be cool or be cast out
Any escape might help to smooth the unattractive truth
But the suburbs have no charms to soothe the restless dreams of youth

Drawn like moths we drift into the city
The timeless old attraction
Cruising for the action
Lit up like a firefly
Just to feel the living night

Some will sell their dreams for small desires
Or lose the race to rats
Get caught in ticking traps
And start to dream of somewhere
To relax their restless flight
Somewhere out of a memory of lighted streets on quiet nights...

Far from it: what I wouldn't give to live in a nice, fairly rich ($50-70,000 p.y.) majority black suburb, away from all the scum

function of age.  I agree, but then I'm also over 30 (I'm assuming you are as well).  I remember all to well the suburban melancholy of youth expressed by Born on the Floor.  Also, like you, I'd rather live among the middle than among the spectacularly rich or among the desperately poor.  I will say I think I have a slight preference for mixed race neighborhoods rather than monolithic groups.  But that's just a personal preference.  Still haven't said anything about the strip clubs.  I suppose they attract criminals, and that's the general complaint from suburbanites who oppose them.  But they gotta be somewhere.

Attract criminals?  No, they attract the pathetically emasculated American male.  There are no more criminals around the strip club than anywhere else.

And they haven't 'gotta be somewhere'.  The Religious Party would prefer they not exsist within the USA.
