Bill Bradley Speech in Vancouver,British Columbia 25th of February
"This Campaign isn't just about who gets to form the Next Government in 4 weeks times,
its about the type of America we want for our Children. This is a critical point in our nations
history, The 21st century is less than seven years away and we are still yet meet the
challenges of this century. Millions still languish in poverty, Many still don't have access to
a Relevant education and There are still so many middle class and working class struggling week in week out to make Decent living. This is not an acceptable norm for a country as Advanced as we are and We should endeavor to make all these things history by the end of the first decade of the  next century and a Democratic Labour Government will work tirelessly to Create a better ,more equal and a more just Commonwealth."

New York Telegraph 26th of February

expenditure on the Commonwealth Health Service and Public schools by three percent over Five
Years Promising that the Money saved would be spent on Private School Subsidies and Small
Business grants.Clark outlined his plan to increased the Good and Services tax from it current
level of eight percent to ten percent but he did try to reassure voters by saying that it won't
effect Low Income earners too much and Low income tax credits will compensate for any losses in weekly income caused by a Gst Increase.

Union delegates from The Countries major unions most of which are aligned with the Dlp

allocated to Small Business grants. He also committed Labour to introducing a ten pound minimum wage and Amending the 1982 Constitutional accords to give Premiers the ability to appoint senators. Bradley also proposed repealing the Conservatives Right to work act, The Dlp manifesto also contained the proposition for the Government lending councils money to purchase vacant foreclosed on homes and renting them out.

excerpts from Leaders Debate 6th of March NABS

Joe Clark-"I'm not Going to stand here and say the Economy is doing fine and everything is okay,
It's not, but I've outlined a path back to Prosperity Through Lower taxes for Middle class
Earners, Cutting Government Expenditure and Investing in Local Businesses and communities."
"Labours Housing and Education Plan have no basis in reality, in order to fund his plans he
would have raise taxes on the nations job creators therefore hindering our economic recovery.
What Mister Bradley is proposing is Foolish"
"For the last nine years This Government has delivered an average annual Gdp growth rate of Three Percent Now compare that the half of one percent Average Gdp Growth under the Previous seven years of the Labour Party. The evidence speaks for itself, This recession will only get worse under Labour but Give Me and My party a mandate in two weeks time and we will get our country back on track."

Bill Bradley-"Well This Prime Minister goes on and on about tax cuts, but This Conservative
Government introduced biggest tax hike in this Commonwealth's history,The Gst is a highly
regressive tax that Cost's The Lowest income families the most. He can talk about family values
but the Gst will cost families more than one thousand pounds per year,This Government is Punishing the poor and Ordinary Families to pay off the Debt his Government has created through Tax cuts for the wealthy"
"Well If it's foolish to believe all Americans should be entitled to Food,to warmth,to shelter,
a good education,a well paying job  and a Health service free at the point of use then yes Prime
Minister i Sir am a fool, If it's foolish to believe we should spend money on education for our
Children and Hospital care for our sick and not on Weapons systems with no Effective Military
use then i declare now that i am Foolish"
"We Don't just have to continue to the tried and failed policies of the last Nine years, They caused
this recession and it's irrational to believe an expansion of said Policies would End the Recession
it would most likely worsen it. What the Democratic Labour Party proposes is asking the wealthy
a pay a little bit more, raising the top tax rate from 36% to 39% to pay for reinvesting in our
industrial heartland and Generating Jobs for Americans. "

Zell Miller-"Both of these men are admirable but misguided, The Prime Minister talks about
the Debt and the Deficit but it was the Conservative Government that oversaw the biggest
explosion in the Debt and Deficit that any other Government in this nations history and Mister
Bradley's solution to everything is more taxes and that is not what this great Commonwealth
need right now"
"This nation doesn't need fiscal irresponsibility from either the Tories or The Socialists,
this nation needs Common sense Government from a party with a track record on Delivering
surpluses."

Commonwealth Post March 7th
Bradley Shines in Debate,Clark Falters and Miller fails to make Impression says Tv Pundits
Last Night in Toronto the only Leaders debate of the Campaign took place, and For The Prime
Minister it doesn't look good. Upon walking into Arnold Manor only Eight month ago it is
believed that Cabinet Colleague and Veteran Conservative Mp and Party Moderate George Bush said to Clark "If you want to keep it your going to have go appease the Right". Mister  Bush's words seem to have been taken to heart by Clark, Who is certainly a member of the "Yellow Tory" Faction of his party. Last night Clark tried and failed to communicate the economic rationalist policies that his Treasurer is more Associated with than Himself and it didn't go as planned coming across as someone just reading a prepared script whilst Democratic Labour leader Bill Bradley owned the stage when he spoke his parties plan and when the Prime Minister called it foolish Bradley responded with "Well If it's foolish to believe all Americans should be entitled to Food,to warmth,to shelter, a good education,a well paying job  and a Health service free at the point of use then yes Prime Minister i Sir am a fool, If it's foolish to believe we should spend money on education for our Children and Hospital care for our sick and not on Weapons systems with no Effective Military use then i declare now that i am Foolish". Surely a Line that will be studied by secondary school debating teams for years to come. Liberal leader Zell Miller on the other hand was barely noticeable whilst Bradley and Clark traded barbs Miller checked his watch, though he did one good point on The Conservative Governments Debt record.

Boston Herald March 9th
Kennedy Brothers Campaign in Pennsylvania
In the wake of Democratic Labour Leader Bill Bradley's Debate victory Former Prime Minister
Robert Kennedy and his brother Former Health Minister and current Labour Deputy Leader Ted
Kennedy campaigned together in Several key Pennsylvanian Constituencies. The Former Pm said "Americans have a choice, Between a vision of hope and optimism of Growth and investment and one of fear and division of cuts and corporate handouts, Mister Bradley will make a great Prime Minister". Pennsylvania is very important to Labour's national prospects with eight Labour Target seats in the Province, Four of them belonging to the Liberals,Liberal Campaign Strategist James Carville said the Liberal Party was fairly confident of Retaining those seats and gaining some due to Liberal Premier Robert Casey's Provincial popularity.

Bobby Kennedy would not be a Laborite but Teddy sure would. Henery Cabot Lodge would be a Tory/Conservative but otherwise good work.

I dare you to try to guess which party I'd vote for.

I think Bobby would've have like Teddy shifted Leftwards as he got older. The Dlp under Bobby shifted to the center left and lots of left leaning liberals like Pierre Trudeau, Tip O'Neil and Jimmy Carter defected and joined Labor. Well I'm not sure Clark certainly was Red Tory in our tl so as a Libertarian you probably wouldn't vote for him so i'm guessing the Liberals because Zell Miller considering he is more fiscally conservative.

NABS National Agenda with Tim Russert (excerpt 13th of March)
Tim Russert:Welcome to those watching at home and this is National
Agenda and Tonight i will be interviewing Opposition Leader and Democratic
Labour leader and Challenger for the Prime Minister-ship Bill Bradley.
Mister Bradley you said during the debate and
have during your many speeches in this campaign that if
elected you would raise the Top income tax rate by three
percent and Many Politicians on the other side have said that
it isn't responsible and would Punish job creators, what do you
say to this?
Bill Bradley: Well firstly I'd like to say it's great to be here with
you Tim, i always enjoy and look forward to our encounters. Secondly
when People like The Treasurer Mister Gingrich and others in his party
make the claim that the Rich are "Job Creators", they are trying to elevate
the more well off among us above ordinary Americans in terms of contributing
to society and i don't disagree that Businesses employ the majority of people
not Government in this country but i do not agree that rich individuals
create jobs. Job Growth and Creation is a result of an economic feedback
loop that is the result of Consumer spending mostly by the Middle class, When
middle class wages go up job creation does as well. Since 1985 Middle Earnings Wages
have not risen as a percentage of our Gross Domestic Product whilst the Earnings
of the Top one percentile have risen fifteen percent as a percentage of GDP.
----

New York Telegragh 14th of March
The Demise of the Liberal party.
Over the last three weeks voters have watched as The Prime Minister and The
Opposition Leader battle in out for the occupancy of Arnold Manor whilst Liberal
Leader Zell Miller has faded into the background. Miller won the Leadership saying
if the Liberal ever wanted to win government again they had to hold the center but
it just hasn't played out that way, with their opinion poll numbers remaining stagnant
for much of the the last two years. The Liberals have finished third in terms of
seats and vote percentage at every election since 1977 and Winning more seats than
the Dlp in 1972 but less votes, they are a party well and truly in decline and Mister
Miller isn't doing much to reverse it. Former Liberal Premier of Arkansas Bill
Clinton was quoted saying at a Party Policy discussion "If we don't offer a Progressive
vision and challenge the Dlp we will very soon be consigned to the Political history
books", something the current leader seems to have ignored completely instead he's
challenged Clark on the center right making stops to marginal Liberal-Tory seats
a strategy which many in the party feel will not pay off come the Twenty Fifth.

Commonwealth Post March 19th
Labour "Economically inept" says Newt Gingrich
Treasurer Newt Gingrich a man defeated by Prime Minister Clark for the Conservative leadership
nine months ago has called the Democratic Labour party "economically inept" describing Shadow
Treasurer Joe Biden as a "Fiscal Caveman" with a rudimentary understanding of
economics. The Shadow Treasurer when asked for a reply to Gingrich's remarks said "I really don't want to dignify his words with a response, I want to discuss to catastrophic effects of a Gst
rise on American Families".

The American Age March 20th
Tight Race!
Yesterday Gallup Published a Poll in which the Democratic Labour party lead
the Tories by a fifth of a percentage point in the popular vote count and by ten
seats in the seats projection and with the election less than 5 days away this shows
that the come the Morning of the Twenty Sixth as the light of the rising sun hits
the steeple of Confederation Hall in Downtown New York the results of the thirty
eighth federal election of this Nation may not be clear and the party elected to
govern may be up for interpretation. It's certainly been one of the most polarising
elections in a generation but as Opinion Polls over the last two weeks have shown,
and the election Enters its final five days with Both Labour and The Tories
locked in dead heat. Bill Bradley has certainly disproved his critics and
doubters some of those even within his own party by taking a narrow lead it seems
all is not lost for Mister Clark who could still remain as Prime Minister if in
a weeks time he can Hold onto his parties majority or form a coalition with Zell
Millers Liberals who seem more Likely to be open to working with the Tories than
Labour a party which Mister Miller himself described as "Unthinking Progressives".
However with Eight Hundred and Seventy one individual Electoral contests yet to reach
their climax Nobody can with any absolute certainty predict the make up on the
House of Commons when it reopens in the first week of April.
----

Boston Herald March 21st
Clark attempts to reassure voters about Gst rise.
Yesterday the Prime Minister spoke to Crowd a gathered outside the Provincial Parliament
in Kingston the capital of the Gulf province of the west indies he said "Don't worry
essential health items such as Nappies,Razors,Hair Products,Tampons and certain medications
will be exempt from the Gst rise, making sure that those of Lower income are not too badly effected". Mister Clark message though it was well intention-ed was seized upon by the Shadow Minister for Agriculture Percival Patterson who was on the stump nearby when he said "It's all good and well that the Prime Minister has exempted Nappies,Razors and Hair Products from the Gst rise but the Gst rise will still apply to Certain food products including grown produce and it shows how enormously out of touch him and his party are that they don't think fruit and
veg are essential for a healthy lifestyle". The Shadow Ministers rebuttle drowned out
Clark's visit on Local News stations and was even shown on the National News, this
incident is not likely to lighten the mood in Conservative HQ after a string of unwanted
gaffes and outbursts in the last few days from Back bencher's and Cabinet ministers alike
that may have cost the Tories some ground.
----

The Dominion Times March 21st
Liberal Premier Endorses Dlp!
Well Spirits on Bradley campaign bus reached new highs last-night as Labour Campaign
Staffers and Party workers heard the news from Montreal that Liberal Premier Jean Chretien
apparently told a journalist that he'd be voting for the Labour party on election day.
The Campaign bus was passing through St.Paul Minnesota on it's way to airport as a rather out of tune rendition of 'the Times they are a changin' could be heard ringing out throughout the rather tatty old bus even a few Newspaper reporters joined in. Chretien is known to be on the left of provincial Liberals who even after the parties federal implosion maintained a rather strong hold on the politics of the Majority french speaking province.

Opening Montage

NABS Election Night Results Coverage
Tom Brokaw-"Hello and Good Evening and Welcome to the North American Broadcasting Service's election night results program,Its Seven pm on the East Coast We will have Declarations coming in from Vermont,New Hampshire,Kentucky,Indiana,Nova Scotia and Newfoundland within the hour whatever happens tonight the events of the last 5 weeks were certainly interesting to watch. The Last two Opinion Polls of the campaign had Contrasting results with Gallup showing Labour Leading the Tories by six percentage points and Ipsos showing less than a third of a percentage point between the two Major parties but both did record a drop in Liberal Support. So with me tonight are Tim Russert Our NABS Political Analyst and the woman who will be  interviewing all Spinster's,Ministers, the Victors and defeated Throughout
The Night Diana Sawyer. But now its Seven Pm on the East coast we can now reveal to you the results of our exit poll taken in conjunction with Gallop at Two Hundred and fifty polling places in every province speaking to approximately Twenty Thousand people after they had voted and here it is-----
Election Night exit poll
Democratic Labour-36.8%-409
Conservative-35.8%-386
Liberal-20.6%-55
A.Unity-3.2%-4
Other-3.6%-17
TB-I must remind you that even though its an exit poll it has a margin of error of one point five
percent meaning that a Percentage Point either way and we could be looking at a Labour Majority or Conservative Minority, Tim What do you think? what was your favourite campaign moment?
TR-Well When Labour Leader Mister Bradley declared himself a fool live on prime time TV was definitely my favourite  moments and I really don't know, Labour leads but its a thin margin and Certainly Prime Minister Clark is waiting in anticipation for the First results to get an idea about whether he keeps his job.

North American Broadcasting Service Election Night 1993 Results Coverage

Tb-Tim our exit poll projects a very close race and i think it needs to explained more in depth
by someone more capable than myself when it comes to electoral arrhythmic.
Tr- Yes well i have a few Graphs that will really show what this exit poll means the first is the
layout of the New House of Commons as our exit poll projects. It shows the Tories still on
the right side of the chambers and until Mister Clark can no longer command a majority in the house he is Prime Minister.

Tr-The Second Graph shows the projected popular vote.

Tr-It does appear if our exit poll is on the mark that the Dlp has had a good campaign especially
Mister Bradley whose overcome the Public Perception that he was dry and dull.
Tb- Well as we await the First results we've got Diane Sawyer interviewing deputy Dlp leader and Long serving Mp Ted Kennedy.

Ds- Mister Kennedy its nice to have you on and may i ask what do you of your exit poll and are optimistic that by this time next week you'll be deputy Prime Minister?

TK- Thank You Diane and I'm Delighted to be Invited. I think your exit poll underestimates us, The Last Gallup poll had us on track for majority but Your exit poll just adds to increasing pile of
Polls that were done during the latter part of the campaign that show this Tory government has lost the confidence of the American People and i don't think about myself and my position in a Labour Government i think about all the people out there struggling to get by, unable to think about leisure and enjoyment, who would benefit from Labours Manifesto and our alternative economic strategy.
Ds- You are veteran of campaigns, Working on every Federal Labour Campaign since 1967 and even working on your brother John's 1947 Liberal campaign for the House, How do you think this campaign went for Labour especially in the last week?
Tk- Well that was back in the day when the Liberal party stood for Progressive ideals and for Working people not like now where they offer nothing more than just Surplus talk with no vision for how much better this country can be. This Campaign has been positive for my party, Mister Bradley and i have talked to hundreds of people from Coast to coast, from the Gulf Islands to the icy lands of the north about what Our party can do for them and What the cost of Gst rise will be for working families.

TB-Well We've got our First Result of the night and in Vermont Democratic Labour Candidate Bernie Sanders has defeated Conservative Peter Plymptom Smith to become one of Labour's Most left wing Mps.

Dem.Labour-13 (+1)
Conservative-8 (-1)
Liberal-1 (NC)
5.8% Swing from Con to Lab
----
TB-Now here we have an interesting result in the Seat of Long
Island east where the Son of Former Liberal Mp now Senator turned Labour
defector John Kennedy, John Kennedy Jr has as we Project has won the
seat with a swing double the National Projected average. The thirty three
year old only three years older than when his father when he was Elected
in the 1947 federal election. This is certainly a surprise to many inside the
Dlp but He's pulled it off beating Conservative Michael Forbes Forty Percent
to Thirty Six Percent.

TB- For those of you at home who are a bit confused why the Conservatives are leading, that's
because a lot of the Southern Provincial results are in along with the Northern Atlantic Provinces that in recent years vote Heavily for the Tories whilst the Labour strong mid west and Pacific provinces have not yet reported their results so expect for the next three hours the Tories will have marginal lead before California and British Columbia come in and the results will most likely favour Labour.

Dem.Labour-241 (+50)

TB-Well we are still awaiting results from the West coast which will go heavily for
the DLP so we are expecting that they'll take the lead but we are currently revising our
seat projection to take account of the fact that the Conservative Managed to hold onto
many of the Labour target seats in the South east Provinces. Now in this Chart on the left
you have the 1988 Federal Seat Results and on the right Our Current seat Projection.
It shows a gain of Eighty seats for the DLP, a loss of Fifty six for the Tories, The
Liberals are down twenty five seats,Pat Buchanan's American Unity party doubling
its Representation from Two to Four and Others down one. Well now i have Mister
Russert here and he's going to explain what this means for who will form the Next
Government.

TR-Thanks Tom and we've still got results coming but it seems like they'll be less than
ten seats between the Major parties with Labour most likely ahead. However that does not mean Mister Clark is out of a job despite losing the Conservatives Thirty three seat majority, the fact he's Prime Minister means he gets the first attempt at forming Government which i assume he will be speaking to Liberal Leader Zell Miller. For Labour this maybe a bitter sweet election, they may win the most seats and Narrowly beat the Conservatives in the popular vote but fail to form Government.
