I was thinking earlier, we don't seem to have any established colors that refer to each party.  I know it probably doesn't matter very much, but it would help me when I do my political compass chart, plus a few other things I have in mind.

The system I used for the chart is as follows:

Independent Liberals
Farmer Labor
Constitutional Union
Freedom
Atlas Conservative Alliance
Libertarians
Independent
Others

Does anybody agree with that scheme, or would you prefer a different color of a particular party?

Those colors seem fine to me.

Don't know about other people though I'd guess they wouldn't have a problem with them.

I used purple in my Atlas Wiki tables as the Constitutional Union color.  I thought it fit pretty well.

Switch Union and Farmer-Labor (I have never really associated blue with the party as much as green).

Acctually, Freedom has tradtionally gone by purple.  Look at the November election map for D1

I figured there might be some kind of contest for purple between the two centrist parties.  That's largely why I left it out.

I would prefer this re-arranged and slightly darker color scheme:

Independent Liberals
Farmer Labor
Constitutional Union
Freedom
Atlas Conservative Alliance
Libertarians
Independent
Others

I would personally love it if the Libertarians' color was put against a black background. Smiley

How about they take violet and we can have lavender?

A goldish color would probably be the best thing: Libertarians

yeah, king's suggestion is a little easier on the eyes.  Although I thinkthe libertarian text color should probably change color altogether.

I like King's idea, but how about just a few slight changes:

Independent Liberals
Farmer Labor
Constitutional Union
Freedom
Atlas Conservative Alliance
Libertarians
Independent
Others

What do the party chairmen think of this color scheme?

Also, if the Neglected Majority Party get enough members, then I guess they could have sky blue. Wink

As the de facto chairman of the ILP, I would say simply that red is most commonly associated with socialism and communism. The ILP is not an economically leftist party, rather a party primarily of social liberalism.

As the most economically leftist party, we, Farmer-Labor should be red.

As the most economically leftist party, we, Farmer-Labor should be red.

Then Freedom should be moved into purple or pink, as it is currently a pinkish-purple colour. We would take the remainder. We do prefer orange though

OK, well I guess King's proposed scheme is the best so far.

Is the FLP better suited for dark red, and the Radical Party bright red?

Bright red is closer to yellow. So dark red makes more sense for us.

OK then, how about this color scheme:

Independent Liberals
Farmer Labor
Radical Party
Constitutional Union
Freedom
Neglected Majority
Atlas Conservative Alliance
Libertarians
Independent
Others

Also, how many members does a party need to be fully recognized?

And Peter, is there an alternative color you'd like for the ILP, as opposed to beige?

I'm not so sure.  Using gold for the Libertarians and beige for the ILP would be pretty confusing.  And plus, the colors probably wouldn't be used for forum text - I just did it like that to better illustrate the scheme.  So I'd still prefer bright yellow for the Libertarians.

No, the colors are pretty different if you look at them.

I'm still not so sure they are:

Independent Liberals
Libertarians

Or maybe I'm just verging on color blind.....
