DC suburbs are cool, but a little sprawl-y. Obviously A+ politics.

Baltimore is an excellent city.

Rest of Maryland is a crapshoot.

Goes in that order for me.

DC suburbs are cool, but a little sprawl-y.

I'm not sure what this means, since the northern suburbs of Washington are the best suburbs in terms of density and public transportation that I've seen in this country.

I think Maryland is a fine state, although I haven't spent a lot of time much east or west of the Fall Line.

Baltimore is lovely.  The DC suburbs are rather unpleasant.  The rest of Maryland seems pretty forgettable, although Annapolis is pretty.  I guess I haven't been to the Eastern Shore.
