It depends on the specific nature of the autocracy, but I'm inclined to vote for the liberal autocracy. Most of the times illiberal democracies are quite autocratic as well, and in the end elections don't really matter even though they're not electoral-type events, so then I'd rather have way more personal/economic freedom and only slightly less political freedom.

I hope the autocracy is not too liberal.

Liberal as in European Centre-right Liberals, Pure Classical liberalism, Or American "Liberalism" AKA:Center-left to Left-Wing?
These would all fall under the definition of "liberal" the OP is presumably using.

It obviously depends on how illiberal and how autocratic, but in general I would say personal freedom is more important than being involved in the political process.

Well given that capitalist democracy is a sham (whether liberal or 'illiberal'), not really.

You are aware that "capitalist democracy" was never mentioned, right?
Both of this systems could work with almost any economic system

Of course the problem with the liberal autarky is the freedoms you enjoy are entirely at the whims of your autocrat. At least in a democracy there is a way to escape, convoluted though it may be. Democracy is always better than no democracy.

In a majoritarian democracy without a "liberal" culture or constitutional checks, being a minority can suck. A lot.
