The financial crisis is delayed eighteen months, but speeds up. The GOP has an even bigger landslide in 2010. Clinton, with 45-51 approval ratings by May 2011, when the economy had been growing at 1.1%, then 1.4%, then 2.1%, next 2.8%, and lastly 2.8% for the past five months, decided to not seek another term.
Secretary of State Bill Richardson wins a heavy fight against Senator Obama, Gov. Howard Dean, and Rep. Dennis Kucinich. On the Republican side, Gov. Tim Pawlenty emerges as the victor against Former Speaker Gingrich, Sen. J. C. Watts(elected in 2008), Sen. John McCain, Gov. Mitt Romney, Sen. Rick Santorum and Rep. Ron Paul.
What do you think happens now?
[Hillary Clinton, Election Day, 2012: 47-51]
