http://www.helloquizzy.com/tests/the-politics-test

So this thread is a little different. I'm waging on whether or not to do a series of a test on HelloQuizzy. Its a massive 160 questions, but I would do one a day and let the question run for three days each. You don't have to take the test, just scroll through it and check the quality of the questions and see if you like it. I will base my decision on whether or not to do it on the results of this thread.

So I do like the test, but it does have some downfalls. There's no critical box or rating of importance on each issue. There's also 4 answers for each question: strongly agree, (moderately) agree, (moderately) disagree, strongly disagree. But the thing I very much like about the test is that it tests the levels of extremity. Unlike other tests which only tests one issue once, it does some issues multiple times to see how far you'll go. Also, with the good Republican population on this forum, I thought it would be interesting to see the breakdown on each question.

I have a problem with the fact that many of these questions are so incredibly general, but that's true for most of those tests. Anyhow, I would definitely be interested in participating in such a series.

It called me a paleoconservative. That's a first, never got that as a test result before. It makes me think of one of the worst American politicians of the last decades.

A statist, fairly accurate description however it did push me more authoritarian then I am. Good test, overall, I enjoyed it.

Statist is a word only libertarians use. Are you sure you think its accurate?

Yeah, I think a lot of them are trying to imply something but aren't very clear. I think us political junkies will know what they mean though.

Especially since everybody who isn't an anarchist is technically a statist.

I guess if it means moral authoritarianism, with the government helping people from themselves without harming civil liberties, and regulating the internet, censoring some stuff and guiding the discussion in morality and promoting moral values, I guess that describes me.

It called me Neo-liberal and a Centrist, which is pretty much the antithesis of my views

Junk test.

Nah, I've seen Ancaps call Anarchists "statists" too.

I got neoliberal lol

Pretty mediocre questions, somewhat repetitive, very context dependent, poor syntax and spelling throughout.

I don't think it's worthy of it's own thread - there are much better quizzes out there.

I enjoyed it. The questions were interesting, though a few were confusing and poorly worded.    I got "paleoliberal" with the description being generally reflective of some aspects of my political values.    It would be interesting to take these questions and make a result with more dimensions, such as a cultural liberal/conservative track - for example the people who would be willing to support government population control are likely going to be different than the people who support restrictions on abortion, though both counted here as indicating greater govt control and thus lower personal freedom and toward the right part of the spectrum.

I think it's the first test I've seen that asked me whether "we" (meaning the US, I assume) should "nuke Iran".  I suppose you could argue that there's some benefit in having questions like that which distinguish nutters from the saner variety of neocon...

It called me a "Social Liberal" which seems a perfectly reasonable thing for it to do, but some of the questions are a bit dodgy to the extent that I wasn't quite sure what some of them were asking.  (E.g. the one about "statewide smoking bans": does it mean bans on smoking in public places like what we have in the UK, or does it mean total bans on tobacco?)  And there are a few of the "because A, then B" type of questions, which I never like.

I'm not convinced by all its labels for different parts of its political spectrum, either.

I got neoconservative even though I really only gave socially conservative answers to those not directly concerning foreign policy.

I got centrist to neo-con... My true side comes out apparently. I must just go get a C-VA tag and endorse Cruz.

The labels seem to be a problem. Was the score (the percentages) accurate though?

Yeah, at least for me.
