The other thread was closed when the election was called, but there are things to discuss other than the federal election.

Anyway, Toronto city council has voted against moving to ranked ballots in municipal elections. It's provincial jurisdiction how municipal elections are conducted, but the province offered to do it if the city wanted. It was supported by John Tory. But I guess enough faceless inner-suburban drone councillors wanted to win re-election with 30% on name recognition alone against multiple challengers.

This, obviously, increases the chances of a repeat of the dynamic of the previous mayoral election, with a Ford running and the leftish vote mostly going strategically to Tory.
