Vote and Discuss.

I'm sceptical about the deal and it will probably lead to outsourcing of jobs and child labour, however my main problem with the deal, is that it's written in private with bureaucrats and politicians for the corporations.

No, for many of the reasons in the OP.

I'd support it if I knew what it says.

It would be interesting to see the ideological breakdown of support.

And possible support. I concur with Kent.

I don't really know what will happen by consequence of it, but in general I support free-trade agreements and therefore I think this is an FP.

Honestly, while I vehemently disagree with the left-wing arguments against free trade out of ideology, I can at least understand where these people come from, whereas right-wingers who are in favor of protectionism and against free trade simply don't seem to understand anything about how economies work ("they took our jobs!1!!!") and how economics works, which comes off as truly stupid.

Free trade is good, protectionism is awful (normal, etc.)

I generally support trade agreements but have a few concerns that were brought up by TPP's critics/fearmongers -

1. What's up with the secrecy and fast track?
2. Are corporations going to be suing governments left and right or is this just fearmonger?
3. How will this affect the the price and supply of medication?
4. Are/will there (be) envirornmental provisions? (common for every trade agreement)

If these are properly addressed, I could see myself supporting it. Voted other.

Concerned about environmental and labor protections, as well as the ability of corporations to take legal actions against governments - wish the deal could be read and am suspicious of its secrecy. Voted other because I don't really know what's in it.

Why does everyone think CORPORATIONS SUING GOVERNMENTS is some kind of horrifyng new thing?

All trade agreements are negotiated in secret. That's not unusual. Can you imagine how long it would take if every minor change was published?

I'm for TPP of course since I'm not a union shill or NWO conspiracy theorist.

In other words, you're sane.

Fast track is essential for a deal. It completely undermines the American's hand if every country knows that any agreement they make means jack, as it can simply be amended at home. It's like any other treaty in that respect - legislators generally don't amend treaties concluded by diplomats, just approve and ratify.

The secret courts could be a worry, but they've been around a while and the odds aren't exactly stacked against countries. Corporations can sue countries all they like, doesn't mean they'll win. Not a big fan, but hardly the end of democracy like some seem to think.

Medication - maybe, but probably not in the USA so you don't have much to worry about there Tongue

As for the environment, supposedly yes. We will have to see how well-enforced it is.
