I'm only including the three serious candidates for obvious reasons...

I still think it's Sanders, but given the anti-establishment pulse and myriad of trust issues, Clinton might also perform poorly.

Bernie Sanders. Literally all the Republicans would have to do is run ads of him calling himself a democratic socialist.

Sanders. A 75 year old bald socialist vs. any of our candidates make even Ted Cruz look moderate.

Clinton.  Sanders will move the political discussion in this country to the left for years to come, even if he doesn't win.  He will make socialism mainstream.

Clinton.  Even if Sanders loses, he'd do a great job moving the Overton window significantly to the left if he secures the nomination, and it would be far harder to attack him on authenticity.

I would have said Sanders back when Hillary's poll numbers were awesome, but now that they're starting to lag, I just don't see them being "great" in the future.

Hillary is my choice, because she's a sure fire loser; the Benghazi situation,  whatever the Republican motives may or not be, of having an investigation, Emailgate,  her unlikeability, not approachable, just another hack, not sure footed, unless aided by talking points. She will try to weasel her way out of her predicament, by lies and obfuscation and prevarication. Won't work Hillary.

This.

A higher percentage of Americans would vote for either a gay, muslim, or even atheist for President compared to a socialist. (SOURCE: http://www.gallup.com/poll/183713/socialist-presidential-candidates-least-appealing.aspx)

There's not even a single major Presidential candidate who is either openly gay, muslim, and/or atheist.

The poll question and the title question are different. Sanders would be the easiest to beat, but I still hope for Biden even though he's the toughest. I'm confident a good GOP nominee can beat any of these three, and Biden is the only one I would feel okay with in the event of a bad GOP nominee.

Biden, since I think he would be the best President of the three. Voting for someone you dislike in the belief they are weaker in the general election is very stupid, since the nominee of a major party in the US is always capable of winning a presidential election given the correct circumstances.

Biden would be the least awful president, but also the hardest to beat.

Bernie would probably be the easiest to beat, but would also perhaps move socialism into the mainstream for a couple decades in the future (see Goldwater-->Reagan) (and, if he did win, it would be a disaster).

So, I will say that I hope Hillary is the nominee, as I think we know how to attack her, but that she is not going to promote socialism in the American public.

Sanders seems like he'd be the easiest to beat, so him. Hillary also doesn't seem to be a very formidable opponent, Biden is really who Republicans should worry about.

From a Republican standpoint, Hillary Clinton is the weakest of the three.

Clinton is the weakest. As for Sanders, Tony Blair would probably still call himself a democratic socialist too.

Biden would make the least awful President and I agree with him on some regards. Sanders will move us way too far to the left for years and quite possibly shut the right out for quite some time. Clinton........is self explanatory.

I think it's tough - I think Hillary Clinton is a disastrous politician, but while I think Bernie Sanders actually has better chops than her (look how his movement is doing right now), I think he's weaker than her to a point where I think Republicans could effectively scare their way to the Presidency. Republicans should want either one as the Democratic nominee.

I do not want Bernie Sanders or any socialist ever getting close to the White House. Biden is alright, but would be hard to beat, so I'd have to go with Clinton (tolerable if she wins, but also easier to beat).

Hillary Clinton because she is an awful campaigner and makes herself look guilty no matter what she's guilty over.

If I were the Democrats though I'd nominate Webb, he has the best chance of winning Republican votes but voted Hillary.

Even if he didn't have a hostile Congress to deal with he'd probably still be to the economic right of FDR/Truman/LBJ.
