From the last 3 national polls that solely in October.  Fiorina is way below Trump, Carson, Rubio/Bush.  She is fighting Cruz of 5th and 6th place.  Funnily Reuters, Morning Consult, and PPP came out about the same time period all put her at 6%.

So what exactly transpire since the last debate that Rubio had overtaken her?  Which attacks on her that stuck?

Favorability wise Fiorina - 57/27, she still doing very well.  So it meant that she is still among people's 2nd and 3rd choice.

The media doesn't just predict and analyze, their predictions and analysis are self=fulfilling prophesies.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/plum-line/wp/2015/10/06/why-everyone-suddenly-decided-marco-rubio-will-be-the-gop-nominee/

Though Fiorina got glowing media coverage in the days after the debate, her record at HP got some media coverage. Had it not and had there been less coverage of Rubio, she might be higher. Also, she was pretty much caught lying about the Planned Parenthood video but not sure GOP voters believe that or hold it against her.

Nothing stops momentum in the GOP primary like favorable media coverage.

Both of her surges were kind of similar: she jumped way up in the polls after an impressive debate performance, and then started declining slowly after that.

Base on my average, and I am not a statistician (I did via proportional to sample size of each polls).  # may not add up due to rounding.

Pre 1st debate----------- 1.7%
Post 1st debate---------- 6.8% (+5.1%)
Prior to 2nd debate------ 3.1% (-3.8%)
Post 2nd debate--------- 9.6% (+6.5%)
October #s--------------- 6% --(-3.6%)

I saw Fiorina's campaign bloody and still kicking on the table. Rubio's operatives said "Don't kill it yet, we need to harvest its manager."

Carly's handling of the PP video, and then doubling down on her mischaracterizations, and her suggestion of considering shooting down Russian planes in Syria, I think degrades her potential to be an acceptable candidate to the Pub establishment, and probably also getting checks from the Koch brothers. (It damages her viability to win the General, which is what it is all, or mostly, about.) So unless she can win it all by being solely an insurgent candidate, her prospects I think have been damaged.
