Americans dislike attacks on Planned Parenthood but overwhelmingly approve of the world's most prominent pro-life activist. Interesting.

"Q7 Has the legalization of gay marriage had a positive or negative impact on your life, or has it not had any impact at all?"
No impact at all wins at 54% of course, but I'm at least as interested in how 26% of people think it has had a negative impact on their lives, 6% more than a positive impact. Has it made them think about gay people and that's yucky?

"Q11 What do you have a higher opinion of: Planned Parenthood or the Republicans in Congress?"
Planned Parenthood wins at 49%. Bad news for PP, failing to get a majority even when compared to the dreaded Congressional Republicans.

And most importantly...
"Q19 Given the choices of the Chicago Cubs, Kansas City Royals, Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Mets, New York Yankees, Pittsburgh Pirates, St. Louis Cardinals, Texas Rangers, and Toronto Blue Jays who would you most like to see win the World Series in baseball this year?"
Don't care wins at 35%.

A tie in the Congressional popular vote like this poll claims would probably lead to another Republican landslide.

Probably because they agree with the Pope on a wide range of other issues and his opposition to abortion is a minor strike against him in the favorable-unfavorable add up, and it's probably safe to say that a good number of pro-life people don't buy the hysteria about PP and recognize that PP provides valuable healthcare and family planning services despite some abortions.

Not really interesting when you realize people aren't single-issue voters.

Well, in theory, he's also the world's most prominent opponent of contraception outside of the Duggars.

In addition, taking a hard line against abortion has been a core part of Catholic doctrine on social matters since time immaterial. Not that most Americans agree with that stance, but it's kind of a given with the Church. Who seriously expects them to change on that?
