I honestly don't think Bernie is electable. He lacks charisma, he's old, he's a self-avowed socialist (which, outside of the campus left, doesn't play very well). He's the Ron Paul of the Democratic Party. I think if he's the nominee, you'd see all but the weakest GOP nominee handily defeat him on a scale the size of Obama's 2008 victory if not larger. What do you think?

He would lose everything but Vermont and DC.

let's not be ridiculous. sanders has been polling similar to or better than clinton. it's certainly possible that he could drop as the campaign goes on and as he faces more attacks, but he's not gonna fall below the 240-250 electoral votes that are safe for any democrat.

You're delusional if you think people in safe Democratic states are going to prefer a Republican over Sanders.

He'd win every New England state for sure.

I would say Sanders probably loses - Republicans will be very rough with him, and I don't think he gives off the right energy to combat them - but he wouldn't lose states like Oregon and Minnesota which would be essential for Republicans to call it a landslide.

He'd lose, but he'd at least have 200 EVs, if not a higher floor.

Depends on the Repub nominee and how anti-establishment the public feels by election day. I can see him winning in a squeaker against Trump.

I'm confident that Sanders would lose to any reasonable GOP alternative, but he'd hold the west coast, most of the NE and probably still hold IL, MN. There's no room for a genuine landslide anywhere.

It depends on the GOP nominee, Rubio and Kasich would probably beat him in a 'landslide', or at least as much of a landslide our polarized politics allow these days.

Sanders would obviously lose, and anyone who says otherwise is a hack, but he would not lose in a landslide. People who think that Sanders would lose in a landslide are also hacks.

This is his absolute floor:

GOP: 315 EV's
Sanders: 223 EV's

I'd say it's possible - probable really. Republicans will play his "Socialist" label as a sin forever and that'll likely damage him. Still, I won't say a GOP landslide will take place because I don't know what will happen.

I don't think that Sanders would go under 200 EV's. He probably wouldn't break 300 either. So, to answer the question, no.

It would be fairly normal.

He'd have locked-down the usual... New England, New York, California, Oregon, Washington, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, and probably Pennsylvania.

He's have a little more of a fight in the swing states than Hillary or Biden, but those would still be winnable.

He would lose everything but Vermont and DC.

I wish but the Republicans would need to win 66% of the vote to make that happen

Rubio or Kasich would win a decisive win, not a landslide as the country is too polarizing for anyone to win 400+electoral votes

Kasich vs Sanders

Kasich 345 56%
Sanders 193 43%

Sanders vs Rubio

Rubio  326  53%
Sanders 212 46%

I think Kasich can take Oregon if Kasich as I believe If Republicans win 55% of the popular vote Oregon falls to the GOP

Conservative turnout would be through the roof if Sanders wins the nomination.

I think Sanders is currently very underestimated in a general election, and would win an absolute minimum of 251 electoral votes, with a minimum situation coming into play against someone like Rubio, Bush, or Kasich. Sanders would beat Trump, Carson, Cruz, and Fiorina, and it wouldn't be particularly close.
