Because they didn't like the speech of some of the participants.  Ok, that's funny, but wait, it gets better.  One of the banned speakers is gay, the other is a radical feminist.

I remember the first time Bindel was denied by Manchester University. My friends worked on that event and were pretty annoyed.

Modern feminism is not at all what feminism was 30, 40, or 50 years ago.

Feminism used to be the ideas of equality for women. Women allowed in the workplace, women allowed to be fighter pilots, women get equal pay, ect ect. If that is what feminism is, then I am a feminist.

"Modern" feminism is basically trying to say that men and women are equal in all facets of life. I don't believe, based on biology and science for that to be the case. New modern feminism basically says, "John and Jane can both run, but if John could run faster than Jane, we have to hold him back". That's absolute nonsense.
