Seems rather self-explanatory. While I am a Christian, I don't believe that it is the government's place to either promote or interfere with religion as long as it does not violate the life, liberty, or property of any person. Freedom of religion is one of the most important aspects of liberty.

Kind of question clause number 2, but I think this is something that warrants further discussion. I motion the longest serving member not on leave or LG (funnily enough still evergreen I think) to extend debate.

I think this would be better as a constitutional amendment - as the next assembly could just repeal it.

Well, for Clause 2, I was thinking that if, for example, a particular religion calls for human sacrifice or slavery, then of course it's the government's responsibility to stop them.

That should protected via the constitution and statute already.

I proposed an amendment that does all this, but I'm in agreement with Kent overall. I feel that the protection of religious freedom is crucial and personal, but the goal is to keep religious people from imposing on others via the legislative process.

I also feel that sacrifice/violence/forced sex should not be protected because these things injure other sentient beings.

Debate on this bill was active much more recently, but I will extend debate for an additional 48 hours.

The debating period has ended without further debate, so let's bring this up to a vote.

I vote AYE, but if the DemPGH's Amendment passes, this will become unnecessary.
