1924  Davis (D) and Coolidge (R) both conservative

1940  FDR (D) and Willkie (R) both liberal

1944  FDR (D) and Dewey (R) both liberal

1948  Truman (D) and Dewey (R) both liberal

Imo these are the only post-1895 elections that qualify. 1916 is close but Hughes was really more of a moderate.

In 1908 Taft was arguably liberal/progressive, but he definitely was not in 1912.
