Okay, maybe Mike Johnson is a competent parliamentarian.

Knowing that people like me exist in other places should have some impact on the way you understand the world around you even if we're not in geographic proximity, BRTD.

I would assume they were New Orleans football fans, honestly.
This, if  I were in  the  States
otherwise, some pop-cultural reference I have no  clue of

No, not in America at least. Very clear reference to the New Orleans Saints.

A couple years ago there were "Just Do it!" themed T-shirts everywhere. I saw a coral and aqua one that said, "Dolphins just do it!" The Miami Dolphins, of course.

BRTD typifies the very (American?) Protestant idea that religious views should be a consequence of political views. It's a position I find quite disconcerting myself.

When you put it that way it sounds quite terrifying. It should be the other way around, certainly.

Erm didn't you actually convert to Catholicism? That puts you in the same category for converting to something else, "culture" be damned.

I'd immediately think they were a Saints fan (being in the South I see tons of Saints fans--yes even in Atlanta). But with the Indiana outline I'd just assume it's some obscure thing I've never heard of and move on with my life.

If you like the band, get the shirt. People who know what it means will like it, and if people think you're Catholic, who cares? There are worse things to be. And if they ask you about it, you can teach them about the band!

You seem to be maximizing the importance of a T-shirt, and connecting it to politics, more than any sane person would. But then again, I do lots of odd stuff, too.

If you're going to get this worked over it than don't wear it. It's just a stupid shirt!! It's not worthy of this much public deliberation!

But I really like the band.

Also despite all the New Orleans references what's funny is this is what one of the shirts looks like:

Well, that is one of the most poorly drawn fleur-de-lis I have seen, but the important thing is, no matter how bad of a season we have, we at least beat the Falcons.
