Stop trying to make "military-industrial complex" happen. It's not going to happen.

This isn't an actual thing, so strongly disagree.

It is an actual thing, its kind of a liberal hyporbole word but its simply the arm of the government that builds weapons and is filled with defense contractors. The idea is that this part of the government pushes for war more than its necessary because they make money off of it. That's not unreasonable, even if you disagree with it.

Oh, so you think Dwight D. Eisenhower was a air-headed peacenik?

Eisenhower had one (very good) speech showing his opposition to it ... He had two terms showing his clear support of it.

Eisenhower was a hawk, and it's amazing history has forgotten this.  "Adlai the Appeaser" ring any bells??

Well, I wouldn't ever say that Ike opposed American interventionism, but I do think that he slowly realized the dangers of the intertwining of the government and private military supply companies that sold materials to the military at a profit throughout his presidency.

If we take out the overly flowery bulls*** language of the poll, the question is just asking "does the defence industry have links that are too close with the state?". And I doubt you can argue against that. It's most easily observed in developing countries - the infamous South African arms deal being a prime example; but it's hard to deny that developed countries with strong arms industries - the Members of the UN Security Counci, Germany, Spain, Sweden, the Netherlands etc. - use their foreign departments to give their home weapons industries an uneasy and unhealthy push.
