Given such comforting numbers, perhaps he will summon up the courage to come out of the closet - at last. He does that, than at least one aspect of his very being, will cease to be ersatz and opportunistic.

I think it looks better if they're from a smaller state. Dave Freudenthal or Brian Schweitzer representing their states wouldn't look as bad. Even if Tomblin represented WV-03.

That sort of thing is a degradtion for normal politicians. Ones who don't have this as their official state portrait.

I don't think the guy is dumb enough to do that. He'll go nowhere in politics if he changes parties again. Staying a Democrat now means he has a CD that is being given to him on a silver platter, a good chance of being on the ballot for Governor in 2018, and other possibilities. His political career is far from over - he's only 59.
