It all depends on what key you're in/what scale you're talking about. In the key of C major (which this poll seems to be in, no flats or sharps) C would be Do and E would be Mi, while on G major G (the root) would be Do while B, the third note, would be Mi, by solfege.

E. It's the only guitar chord with standard tuning that both uses every string and has three open strings. So it has a very deep, open sound.

I guess it could, but I learned to play G with four fingers. I think the third finger on the third fret of the B-string is optional.
