I will be devastated if Peter Stoffer and Megan Leslie lose. Ugh. I feckin' hate Justin Trudeau.

Not going that far, but yeah Stoffer is my fave Dipper MP by far.

You'd rather a Liberal? There's basically no difference, except these NDP candidates are known quantities and decent people.

Liberals are killing it in Atlantic Canada. CBC anchors are debating whether or not this trend will carry across the country. Meanwhile, the races the local CBC station is covering (I'm technically in metro Detroit, so I get the CBC Windsor station on cable here in Michigan) should be easy holds for the NDP.

Yes, but they're definitely still left-of-centre, and much closer to the NDP than to the Tories.

Well at least now I'm prepared for Toronto. And the looming Liberal majority.

I'd guess 1993 in the Chretien landslide.

Never. The Liberals won all but one in 1935 and 1993.

I'm starting to think the polls underestimated Liberal support... I know it's still early but.....

No, it's a bit too early for that. Atlantic Canada is, if anything, the one place where the Liberals will be most likely to overperform their numbers. Not to say it won't be replicated elsewhere, just that it's a bit early to call that particular prediction.

Well maybe in the Atlantic, but not really. Everyone expected a blowout but it sucks to lose some good Dippers.

Agree.  Polls have been closed for 45 minutes now, and the Liberals are leading in every seat.  That won't hold, but it's still pretty amazing.  It's hard to imagine them coming out of the night with anything less than 29 or so in Atlantic Canada.  As one of the commentators said, that's nearly their entire current caucus.

I may be rooting for the red team, but I wouldn't get that far ahead. Long way to go. Especially if the NDP picks off as many seats in the prairies as they're supposed to.
