Chicago is a great city.

To visit.  I'd pick Ames over Chicago any day.  Beautiful college town.  Cheaper living.  Assuming I can work from home, or only have to commute to Des Moines once or twice a week.

Chicago, obviously, while recognizing that Iowa City is a fantastic town.

Bahahaha the back and forth in this thread is so awesome.

Question:  Am I rich enough to live wherever I want in Chicago?  If so, then definitely Chicago.  If not, maybe a college town in Iowa, especially if we fast forward a few decades and I end up getting married.

Chicago has a farm, located in Mt Greenwood.  You can live in Chicago and be right next to your favorite barn animals and corn if it means that much to you Iowa bastards.
