What are Republicans hoping to accomplish with 2 and a half more hours of this? Clinton is obviously not rising to their bait, the Democrats are effectively painting the hearing as a partisan charade, and it is beginning to seem like the media is getting sick and tired of it. Gowdy has to go back to the Republican base with a smoking gun for them, but it is increasingly clear that there just isn't one to be found.

Ensure that the less electable candidate gets the Democratic nomination?

According to GE match ups more than 12 months out? You know better than this.

In addition to the matchups, her favorable ratings are pretty bad.

That doesn't matter that much, plus they'll likely improve from here out.

They do matter, she can't win with favorables this bad. We'll see if they improve. But one thing is that the Republicans will get much more of a boost from getting the nomination. Hillary already has like 58% support in the primary, and so would get much less of a boost from supporters of other candidates accepting her.

I think Roskam may be my new least favorite representative in the House. He's just repeatedly shouting the same thing at her.

Roskam will be a new Republican poster boy after this.

Why does Clinton keep showing up to testify? We Democrats ought to be boycotting the hearing and having Hillary stay home each time. Time to go on offense.

Why wouldn't she? She's running a presidential campaign and this gives her several hours of free airtime to beat up on a bunch of clueless Republicans. It works out brilliantly for her.

Kirk is screwed. Duckworth's at the top of her game right now.

Hillary just needs to ask Jordan what answer he would like to end this.

I have a lot of personal ties to Congressman Roskam, and I really thought that he could be a Republican I could trust and support, but not after tonight. He was just embarrassing.

TRUMP is going to make our embassies so safe again, maybe safer than they've ever been. I think a lot of us are, if anything, going to get sick of how safe our embassies are under TRUMP and demand that they be made less safe.

Clinton needs to demand another twenty debates and another forty all-day congressional Benghazi hearings IMO.

Absolutely amazing. Hillary has won my vote. She's held her own for 9 hours during what has been virtually a McCarthy-esque witchhunt, and she shows no signs of exhaustion or rancor. This woman here is Presidential material. She didn't have my support before, but now she does. Hopefully, this hearing has shown the Benghazi and Email nonsense for what it is.

I'm sort of feeling the same way, with an extra two scoops of "Wow, Republicans are even dumber than I'd thought".

So it'll basically be eight hours of free advertising for the Clinton campaign. How dumb are congressional Republicans?

This is Hillary Clinton's hero moment. It's like a Rand Paul or Ted Cruz filibuster, except it's a battle against actual people as opposed to just time.

Gowdy having the stereotypical southern twang is not doing them any favors for the future news-bites.

Hillary stood on point for a full 11 hour interview by the Benghazi committee, being the only witness being questioned. She stood calm, confident, and professional the entire time.

Nothing new came up at all in the Benghazi committee, lots of political theatre and partisan showdowns, but really there isn't anything that I'm aware of that could be used in this interview that could put Clinton into the negative.   I would say 90% of the Republican attacks focused on emails and Blumenthal.

I have to say that was quite an endurance test and Hillary came through on top. Congratulations on her well deserved win.
