I thought when I clicked on it I'd see something dramatically awful like the Red Bee or Maggot or Starfox.  (I'm not sure I know which ones are Marvel comics and which are DC.)  Neither of his choices particularly horrible, other than the fact that they demonstrate that he's not into superheroes.

I suppose that to comic store guy in the Simpson's naming a non-marvel character is probably the "worst possible answer" but I think that most folks won't be as well versed on the subject, so I don't really have a problem with his two choices.  Except for the fact that he's not a marvel character, Batman is a reasonable favorite.  And although her show hasn't premiered yet so it's hard to know whether she'll be a favorite, I agree that supergirl does look hot in the ads.

I think you're reading way too much into this.  He said only that she looked pretty hot and admitted that he didn't even know what channel she was coming on, and he said that after he'd already named (non-Marvel) Batman as his favorite.  Read:  "Batman is the only one I can think of at the moment."  The most striking aspect of this story is that he simply can't name any Marvel comics superheroes off the top of his head, and in my book that's not necessarily a bad thing.

I think Bush's opinion of Supergirl looking hot is an issue that may look differently to men who are roughly in the presidential candidates' demographic than it does to women and younger people.
