When will Jeb! give up his deluded quest for the Republican nomination? When will Kasich withdraw?

Some GOP candidates still have potential to rise. Christie, Kasich, Bush and Rubio could all still win the nomination. Cruz and Jindal potentially but less likely. Pataki, Santorum, Gilmore, Graham, and Huckabee seem to have no room to rise.

That would leave:

Trump
Carson
Rubio
Bush
Christie
Kasich
Cruz
Jindal
Fiorina

My hunch is that it's looking more and more likely to come down to four:

Trump
Carson
Rubio
Bush

Democrats realize Clinton is inevitable, while many Republicans are still in denial about the inevitability of Trump.

The Democrats, while they have plenty of flaws, live in much less of an echo-chamber than the Republicans.

The money.

Citizens United was deliberately orchestrated and it gives Republican presidential candidates more a lifeline … especially for those who are not viable.

^Yeah, Jeb! has no shortage of wealthy donors telling him what he wants to hear.

Unfortunately for him, wealthy donors can't save a low-energy campaign.

Because modern liberalism is firmly based in reality and modern conservatism is firmly based in fantasy.

1. They feel they can be the 2016 Santorum, and in a Romney-less field that means winning the nomination.

2. If they were never in it to win it then not winning it is not going to them

3. It would be rude to the people who have given them money to waste to stopping wasting it until they have wasted it all.

Democrats have a clear frontrunner who is almost certainly going to get the nomination.

Republicans see Trump and Carson as weak frontrunners, so there's more incentive to stick around because of the perception that someone currently in single digits will win.

Blame it on Huckabee. He ran and got a TV show.

LOL....the idea that govt can solve problems and bring about utopia is the very definition of fantasy. Of course to a liberal the idea that individuals are smart enough to make their own decisions, without a central planner, is fantasy.

Republicans were clearly given to many participation trophies as children, and it has ruined their self-perception of their own abilities.

That's a great point, and one that means basically anyone can be the GOP nominee next year. Certainly, current polling suggests the nominee will be Trump, Carson, Fiorina, or Rubio, and I have my own reasons to believe the nominee will be Kasich or Bush, but if any one of these aforementioned candidates falter, it is possible that even Lindsey Graham or George Pataki--assuming they still in the race until such time--could be the dark horse of the year. It all depends on debate performances, and events leading up to the election and the end of the primary season.

I for one hope that the inevitability of both Clinton and Trump are not so inevitable...

Me too. I am supporting Rubio, and I think that should say something since anyone who knows "Reaganfan" would assume I'd be a Bush supporter. I want a new, fresh optimistic candidate. I really do. Many Americans still don't know Rubio but even still he tends to seem more favorable than all the other candidates on both sides.
