I floated this idea before, and got a good amount of support and I'd like to try it again. The premise is, that we will have a congress set in a year (e.g. 1964). You will be able to choose your own character, (from that time of course) in the Senate preferably. We will also have an executive branch that will face elections every 4 years in which the Senators can vote for whom will hold it (Or I could go over-realism and just make-up the results.)  The turns will be set for X amount of IRL time, and will last in game for a month each. In that time you can pass bills, create slander, or prepare for your re-election. Yes, Senators will face re-election. I don't know how y'all feel about this, but after working out some kinks, I think it will be a really fun idea!

I vote that we start sometime from 1947-1965. Also, you should require ten Senators and at least five Representatives before we start.

I'd be willing to participate if this ends up happening. I would suggest a setting in the Jacksonian Era (when Congressional power was at its height and the Senate debate was an art form), perhaps during/immediately after the Mexican War.

So after thinking about it, if you guys would still be up for it I'd love to set this up! I'd like to make this historical and talk about issues that are completely different than what we deal with nowadays. My initial plan was about 1850 running it through to 1875, though I am completely open to new ideas. Basically we would have players pick the Senator from that time period that they'd like to play as and once the game starts, the remaining senators would be GM controlled. My plan was to have 1 IRL Week = 1 In game month. Again, suggestions are very much accepted, I will try and put out something over this weekend. Thanks for all of your support!

I vote for something like the beginning of 1967. Can we pick Senator or Representative?

I vote for something more recent; like 2002 or 2004.

NeverAgain, are you still interested in moderating this? If not, I would love to take the idea up. Smiley
