Let's consider this: If Palin had ran this year, she'd probably be mid-tier in her performance compared to the rest in that debate.

Okay, let's not get crazy. Sarah Palin, unscripted by the GOP establishment in a GOP primary debate, would be a hilarious disaster. Jeb! is only boring. I guess it's a subjective choice which is "better".

Sarah Palin because she at least knows to dodge and manipulate questions and formulate "red meat" answers. All of the stupid things she did in 2008 were at small rallies and one-on-one interviews, not the debates. Bush seems like every answer he gives is just another way of saying "not in the face!"

The (majority of - shoutout to discussion contributing dems!) Atlas democrat's desperate need to sleep better at night by lying to themselves about things they don't want to hear is self evident. The noisy & childish Atlas dems plug their ears or hit back with empty satire in a defenseless cry to anything that makes them that much more butthurt. There is a universe where Sarah Palin is more politically talented than Jeb Bush, and each and every one of us knows it's not this one, regardless of his slumping campaign. It's one thing to admit a candidate has a campaign heading downhill fast because of failures on his part, it's another thing to cry and moan at the slightest sound of a candidate's name because he's not a socialist.

There is hope in these forums, but it's not found in the 50% base of the Atlas democrats that truly should take a break from the forums and are hopeless at reasonable political discussion. Moderators should consider closing ridiculous threads and posts that are cesspools of keyboard warriors, satire and prepubescent style discussion.

Is it at all possible that you are over thinking on this one?  Dems are voting that Palin is a better debater than Bush, because they are afraid of Bush that he has the possibility of slowing down the socialist agenda, because they know in their hearts that if he won the nomination, he'd beat Hillary like a drum? There may be two alternative universes, with you in one, and the Atlas socialist horde in another, but then the question becomes as to which universe has a greater nexus with reality.

Is it at all possible that you are over thinking on this one? Silliest hackery I've read in a while.

Jeb tries and fails to put together logical arguments at debates. That's one style of play, and it's pretty evident he hasn't been very effective.

Palin played a different game at her vice presidential debate, and while it wasn't the most fact-heavy performance, she played to the soundbites and the everyman. And she did it very well, with clear and obvious passion. Palin's strengths were stronger than Jeb's; her weaknesses were less fatal.

So honestly, I think Palin is the objectively better debater. Just compare the reception of their performances and you'll see.

This is difficult as Jeb is far more versed in policy than the know-nothing Palin ever was.  But what Palin had was strong performative ability and solid political instincts.  These strengths covered up her utter lack of policy knowledge for awhile but before long she was exposed.

In contrast, Jeb's ability to perform is zero and his political instincts are sh!t.  Rubio's easy dismissal of Jeb's limp attack on his attendance was a prime example.  If Jeb were at least lukewarm in these areas he might still be in a solid position, but he is flat-out terrible.  He can whine all he likes but no one with such terrible candidate skills is going to make it at the presidential level, regardless of how great their political connections are.
