She's represented Summerville, in the northwestern Charleston suburbs, since 2009. She's  become best known for a speech she made a few months ago which ultimately led to the Confederate flag being taken down at the state capitol.

She has my support. She is a support of marriage equality, which is great, and she's not Mark Sanford, which is great.

She would add to the slowly growing number of GOP members who support marriage equality. I absolutely will support her over Mark Sanford. This will be good because it will create a race in SC when people were expecting nothing competitive in the state in 2016 other than the presidential primary.

Agreed. Plus it'd be fun to watch Sanford lose.

Still disappointed that Colbert's sister lost against Sanford, but Sanford being replaced by an unambiguously better Republican would be great. Endorsed!

Her speech on the Confederate Flag was very moving. Fingers crossed she gives loser Sanford the boot!

She seems like a nice enough woman, and it would be good to see a creep like Sanford being beaten by a woman.

Endorsed.

I encourage all Democrats to endorse their only chance of getting anyone remotely OK to replace Sanford.

What's up with all the hate for Sanford? Is it because he cheated on Jenny Sanford?

Why would liberal democrats like a staunchly conservative Republican who professes family values but in his private life did the opposite.
