Yglesias says Carson is (shockingly!) spending money to raise more money.  Surely he must realize that is not solely a feature of MLMs?

It's possible Carson is being taken for a ride by a lot of consultants and vendors.

It's not. I wish it was though. Smiley

I've probably received more than 10,000 scam e-mails from Nigeria just in my short life. And that's one person. The Nigeria scam business is a multi billion dollar industry that can be compared to a lot of worldwide industries. Not to mention all the other social media platforms where I'm also getting Nigeria scam requests from Facebook via Skype to Viber and others. It's just disgusting and absolutely neverending no matter how many times I block the scammers.

If Carson were in trouble with this whole thing, who would his supporters back? I'm guessing a big chunk might support Cruz, some might go with Trump and the rest will stay home. Cheesy

Wait, are you telling me that an operation involving Armstrong Williams is more about making money than promoting the public welfare?  Shocking.

Speaking of Mr. Williams, looks like he now owns seven television stations around the country, including one in the early caucus state of Nevada and one in the early primary state of South Carolina:

Electoral campaigns are not generally about promoting the public welfare.  They are about promoting a candidate.  Judging by the polls I'd say Carson's campaign is doing a decent enough job of that at least for the time being.    Do you have any evidence that Williams is getting rich off the campaign's fundraising efforts?

No.  I was making a joke about Williams' past No Child Left Behind shenanigans.

The LATimes has story on Super PAC related to Carson and Gingrich that seems to be a scam.

Trump actually mentioned this today, calling it a "scandal"

I'm surprised these issues with Carson's fundraising haven't got more coverage. I don't remember him ever even being asked about this.
