VETO

Have been thinking about this for a while; whilst I agree with the intent it's my responsibility as Governor to veto this bill. The definition of harm is too vague, and could allow groups like churches, charities etc to get sued and then face hefty fines

According to Article II, Section 14:
The Legislative Assembly shall have the power to override the Governor’s veto. If the Assembly passes legislation previously vetoed by the Governor by more than a two-thirds majority vote in a five-seat Assembly, or by a unanimous vote in a three-seat Assembly, it becomes law without the Governor’s signature.

Therefore, your only way to change it is to propose legislation to do so.

If the Assembly wants to pass this law, they're going to have to take it to another vote to specifically override my veto, or introduce changes to the legislation

X Governor Blair,

I'm happy with the work done by the committee, and hope it means that the last couple of elections in the Northeast go without a hitch

Governor Blair meets with Northeast National Guard troops deployed in the field

'In light of the recent terror threat from ISIS we've taken a number of positive steps in the Northeast- I've appointed General James L. Jones to lead the Northeast National Guard in protecting the Northeast, and will be reaching out to several other Governors, and the President to further our security arrangements. I'd like to congratulate President Griffin, and Governor Neveragain for their actions in removing ISIS from Dearborn- but the fight is not over.

My first priority as Governor is to keep the Northeast safe-that's why I've provided various executive orders to deploy the Northeast National Guard, and it's why today I'm announcing that I'm deploying the Northeast National Guard to the borders on Pennsylvania and along our Northern Border to help custom checks . I also intent to give legislation to the Northeast Assembly that will strengthen our regional police forces. We must ensure that we give the Northeast the best protection against ISIS

Press Release, Governor Blair

'I'd like to congratulate all the assembly members who were elected this weekend, and hope that we can have a productive and enjoyable term. I've got great faith in all of them. I'd like to congratulate both CSX and Truman for getting elected, and in my post as Labor Chair boast that this is another victory for Labor with our numbers in the senate briefly rising to 4/10 seats (from 1 when I was elected as chair) Sadly Senator Pikachu resigned this morning-I'd like to thank him for his service- he's been a good friend of mine and I'm sure he'll be back.

I've noted the absent, and talked to CJO Ciync who informed me that a special election is to be held this weekend, and that I'll be able to appoint a brief successor. I will be reviewing a number of candidates, and will make my announcement within 24 hours.

'I'm happy to announce a rather big shake up in the Northeast in this morning. I've decided to appoint myself to the Regional Senate, as I believe it is the best place for me to do what I've been doing for the last 6 months- fighting for the Northeast. I intend to run in the special election this weekend, and am happy to have the support of several figures both inside and outside of the Northeast.

I've absolutely loved my time as Governor-it's been the both fun that I've had in Atlasia. When I came into office in October we had a region divided after a bitter referendum campaign, unemployment above 8% and a region that was struggling. We've managed to turn that all around-unemployment has dropped, the Northeast Assembly has returned to activity and we've debated issues ranging from prison reform to infrastructure renewal. I'm beyond happy at the fact that I can continue to serve the Northeast in the Senate, and will be sure to help continue to play a large role.

I'm also happy to announce that Speaker Kingpoleon will be taking over as Lt.Governor to replace CSX who has joined the Senate- Kingpoleon will become Acting Governor and I'm more than confident in his ability to serve the Northeast well. I wish him the best of luck, and finally I'd like to thank the voters of the Northeast for having faith in me, and giving me two terms in the best job I could ask for

I read that second sentence just as this reached a crescendo at the four minute mark and I nearly jumped out my seat.

Fitting somehow. You were appointed just before I re-entered the Senate to finish out Adam's term and now you re-enter via appointed, just before I depart again. Wink

Welcome Back to the Senate! Cheesy

I think the Governorship was the first office I wasn't appointed to Tongue
