Thank you old friend.

From my extrapolation of the trends Beshear is finished and Grimes is likely toast. God, I am good at this.

Spiked the football a bit too soon, it seems.

Did Beshear's lead jump from 5k to 8k in the last few minutes? He just might pull this off indeed.

I'm going to go ahead and hope Beshear, Jr., wins. He's the only tolerable Kentucky Democrat besides Ben Chandler who could take Paul's seat.

Were there a de facto Republican and de facto Democrat in this race?

Will Bevin actually carry out his promises or will he choke under pressure and cave?

Beshear 454,672
Westerfield 448,187

3475/3697 in

The biggest county that appears to be mostly out is McCracken (Paducah).  Westerfield won the vote that's in with 0% reporting (presumably, early vote) 58-42.  The other counties that are totally out are rural Muhlenburg, Simpson and Ohio counties in the west and Bell county in the east.

My guess is there's not enough ground for Westerfield to make up the difference here.  Beshear likely wins - narrowly.

What is the recount policy in Kentucky?

Also, it appears as if Conway's best county was Franklin County, of all places.
