If Ted Cruz somehow became president and Will Hurd survived in his swing district, I think the Republicans would do well to have a former CIA, Urdu-speaking African-American as the junior senator from Texas.

If Rubio became president I would assume that his seat would be held by a Republican anyway, so just a placeholder if they needed one.

Paul would probably be replaced by whatever Congressman a Governor Bevin thinks is most like him (and to spite McConnell).

If Graham somehow became president (or retired/resigned after his campaign went kaput), then I guess anyone but Mark Sanford would be a good choice for South Carolina's next senator.
