The high-energy campaign has certainly been more successful than anyone (especially the pundits) expected, but a common narrative is that this is all just for publicity or, more tinfoily, to secure Clinton's win in November by intentionally sabotaging the GOP.

More to the point: "Well?"

No, he doesn't want to be the pres. He does, however, feel obliged to be the pres. He'd rather someone else - some one smart, someone strong - do the job, but no one showed up in the past 25-odd years, so he just made a concerted effort to be pres this time around. Trump wants to be the modern hero.

Let's dispel once and for all with this fiction that Donald Trump doesn't want to be president. Being president is EXACTLY what he wants.

Obviously he wants to be President. Whether or not he actually wants to run the bureaucracy and do the work is another question altogether.

Of course he wants to be President, don't be silly.

Why would Trump risk all he has unless he wanted to be President?

Anyone who thinks Trump doesn't want to be President is part of the last breed of Trump Deniers.
