And I mean real video games, not "casual" phone games or Wii type crap.

This was inspired by a conversation I had a with 41-year old woman about how her husband was complaining that she was using her vacation time next week for the launch of Fallout 4, and about how she probably won't pay him any attention at all next week. So my vote is obvious.

Start playing Ingress and you'll meet some.

The woman in question though is also a software designer so she's obviously not "normal" for her demographic, also the stories she's told me about her workplace imply that it makes Atlas look like a feminist paradise in comparison.

Yeah, you're probably right. I tend to assume the worst when it comes to BRTD, but I seem to recall that he's a fan of Pokemon, so I suppose that would make anti-Nintendo snobbery from him unlikely.

The wife plays WoW from time to time and some other RPGs (online and off), and used to play shooters with me, but that stopped a couple of years ago.

Yes. My old supervisor fell into this niche where she played a lot of hack n slash and RPGs as well as writing fanfiction in her spare time and consuming lots of anime. She is in her late 50s.
