After what happened in Kentucky last night, Democrats should be deeply concerned here. 2016 is not going to be a good year for Democrats, at all.

Why should Dems be worried, its not 2014, Senate favors Dems because it isnt the deep red states like KY & La, they are the northern states dems do well in. Dems still are favored over Trump.

She now ranks college football teams as a pastime.

That's all you need to know.

With these numbers, she might run. Regardless, it shows that Democrats are in big trouble here.

Republicans won't win in California, especially not a senate race. Democrats should be worried about many states, but California is not one of them.

I'm surprised so many people are dismissing this poll after what happened in Kentucky, but ok.

Kentucky=California?

Also, there is no signal that Rice is running, so the Dems have no real reason to panic.

I was being facetious, but I'm quite surprised that this poll was being rejected. Usually any poll with a Republican leading is accepted as the gold standard.

Condoleezza Rice probably could win a Senate seat in California, but it's immaterial because she's reiterated many times that she's not interested in elective politics.

Exactly. I don't see Rice running for anything. She didn't want to be on McCain's ticket in '08, Romney's ticket in '12, and probably won't be on the GOP ticket in 2016, 2020.

She likes her job on the College Football Playoff committee.  She is not running for any office- it didn't even immediately compute in my brain who they meant by Rice.  Likely D.

In a presidential year, where the lead Democrat is likely to win at least 55% in CA at the presidential level, there is no reason for the Democrats to worry about the Senate seat.  In the 2014 midterm sweep by the GOP, they came up completely empty from top to bottom in CA.  Only one of those statewide races was even halfway competitive.
